Each year, BAGI's Home‑A‑Rama offers an inspiring look into the latest in luxury design, and this year’s showcase was no exception. Touring the homes, I noticed several recurring themes and thoughtful details that reflect where high‑end residential design is headed.
1. Moody Design Makes a Statement
Dark countertops and richly colored tile in bathrooms added a sense of drama and sophistication. These moody choices create high contrast, highlighting fixtures and finishes while giving the spaces an intimate, elevated feel.
2. European‑Inspired Decor
From tailored millwork to natural stone and classic silhouettes, many of the homes leaned into European elegance. Think timeless, old‑world influence reimagined for modern living—restrained yet luxurious.
3. Wellness & Entertainment Spaces
Basements aren't just storage zones. Each of the homes dedicated lower‑level square footage to wellness and fun—fitness rooms, golf simulators, wine cellars, and lounge areas. It’s a reminder that a home should nurture both body and lifestyle.
4. Thoughtful Everyday Touches
Luxury isn’t just about beauty—it’s about function, too. One of my favorite details was a built‑in dog crate connected to an outdoor, gated dog run through a discreet doggie door. It’s practical, stylish, and perfectly suited for real life with pets.
5. Unique Lighting Choices
Statement lighting played a starring role, with fixtures acting as art pieces. From sculptural chandeliers to unexpected pendants over bathroom vanities, lighting was used not only for function but to create personality and atmosphere in every room.
Home‑A‑Rama reaffirmed that great design balances beauty, function, and individuality. All of the homes this year were absolutely gorgeous! Whether through moody finishes, European flair, or clever details that make life easier, these homes showed us that thoughtful design is always worth the investment.
